| A post has arisen to join BAE Surface Ships as a member of the Sea Riding element of the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) Team. This is primarily a Vessel based position, working 6 weeks on 6 weeks off providing support on naval electrical/electronics The successful candidate will possess good inter personal skills, with a pragmatic approach to the customer, be flexible, and willing to work outside normal office hours to achieve the task in hand. As a CLS System Engineer your main responsibilities will involve: - Maintenance, Repair and Support of Marine Electrical / Electronic Equipment on board the new class of Royal Navy (RN) Survey Vessels. - Conduct on board Specialist to Type Training as directed by your Line Manager - Work offshore and alongside to provide direct engineering and training support to the RN. - Assist the shore based CLS Management team in providing the daily support to the RN. - Undertake other duties and responsibilities within your competence as instructed by the Line Manager. Your skills and qualifications will ideally include: - HNC / HND / Degree Level qualification or equivalent service experience in Electrical / Electronic Engineering. - Experience in maintenance and repair of Electrical / Electronic systems to a modular level, with particular emphasis on fault diagnostics and use of Test Equipment. - An understanding of Computer Based Equipment and Networking. - Good inter personal and liaison skills with a pragmatic approach to customer support and training. - Must be willing to work shifts on board on the basis of approximately 6 weeks on, and 6 weeks off. - Must be able to pass basic Sea Survival & medical examinations - You would be required to join the Sponsored Royal Navy Reserve Scheme in support of CLS contracted Vessels.
