| A Design Engineer - Weight Engineering is required for a global company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence systems at sea. As a Principal Engineer - Weights your main responsibilities will involve: Participate fully in developing, maintaining and modifying engineering processes and procedures in assigned area's in response to technical development and operational need. Carry out relatively complex technical analysis and investigations and prepare reports with suggested recommendations to support the resolution of problems and improvement of engineering capability. Carry out design appraisals in assigned area's to ensure all standards are maintained within Health and Safety regulations. Carry out investigations into operational problems or developments and prepare solutions either individually or as part of a team. Act as the main point of contact with customers and/or suppliers in assigned areas, on weight engineering matters. To resolve relatively complex problems and issues and to maintain awareness in both parties of priorities and objectives. As a Principal Engineer - Weights your skills and qualifications will ideally include: Extensive experience of Weight Engineering in either Defence or related industry. Experience of more than one phase of the Engineering lifecycle. Ability to interpret requirements or technical drawings. Experience of analysis or weight engineering with relevant tools. Typically degree qualified within Weight Engineering or relevant topic.
