| Senior Research and Development Engineer required to join a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of advanced marine fluid handling systems for Ships and Offshore facilities. Reporting to the Head of Research and Development the role requires a strong technical and engineering background, with a level of experience in project management. The job holder will lead specific projects to optimise and develop various environmental products and systems, and provide robust and innovative technical expertise and support the projects assigned. The successful candidate will have a good knowledge and experience on water / wastewater treatment technologies, and be commercially aware. A team player with good verbal and written communication skills. Main Duties: Provide technical input to environmental system development, including technical and economic evaluation, design and specifications, and activities associated with product testing and trials. Actively manage and lead the development projects to fruitful outcome. Achieve the target within agreed time frame, and report progress to Head of R&D. Carry out necessary field activities, including performance diagnosis, data analysis, treatment process setting up and start-up, training, and reporting. Co-ordination with laboratories. Communicate and co-ordinate with other disciplines and external parties to ensure timely progress on development projects and activities. Ensure technological solutions are in compliance with relevant national, international standards and specifications, including Class Rules, IMO conventions, EU directives. Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with design, safety, quality, environmental compliance and procedural standards. Documentation to support product development and market release. Presentation at progress meetings and design reviews. Familiarise with relevant regulatory and legislative issues. Attend necessary exhibitions and training relevant to product development. Support other business areas with relevant skills and acknowledge when required. A level of overseas travelling will be required, typically 1-2 week duration, approximately 2 months per year.
