| Essex based Automotive OEM seeks a Driveline Development Engineer for a long term contract. Position Description: European lead CD platform driveline development engineer, to work strongly with North American Global Lead driveline engineer. Skills Required: Lead weekly (Global) C-PMT meetings with the supply base to follow the key program deliverables and drive issue resolution, author and issue agendas and minutes. Strong familiarity with the main program and release tools such as; GPDS, Integrator, AVBOM, eFDVS, WERS Regional launch support (Germany, Belgium, possibly Asia, and North America) at both the supply base and the build and assembly plants. Ability to develop and interrogate Strength and Durability calculations based on suspension kinematics and powertrain load cases in the design selection process for different size shaft and CVJ systems. Interface calculations for shaft stem spline definitions at the transmission and wheelend. Full powertrain assembly dimensional tolerance stack calculations. Skills Preferred: NVH attribute development of system targets for avoiding key phenomena such as powertrain roughness, lugging boom, shudder, clonk, shuffle. Familiarity with material properties and forming processes of steels (heat treated), Cast Iron and Aluminium, injection moulded polymers. Experience Required: Experience working in driveline engineering Experience Preferred: Plant launch support, Tier 1 supplier manufacturing Education Required: Candidates must have a minimum of HNC/HND in relevant field, ideally educated to Degree level. Education Preferred: Honours Degree, MSC. in automotive systems Additional Information : Clean Full UK Driving license. Valid passport to travel worldwide unrestricted.
