| A well established business for Measurement and Control solutions and products for the Aerospace markets is currently recruiting for a European Sales Manager. Based in Christchurch, Hampshire. Basic Salary £36-40K + car + commission + pension. This position will suit an experienced Sales professional within the aerospace / avionics market who has a strong technical understanding of electronic engineering. The European Sales Manager will be responsible for generating leads and sales growth with clients across Europe. Job Purpose: - Fully manage the sales process with the objective of maximising sales revenue and building long term customer relationships, in conjunction with any agents and other regional team members, in the assigned European Sales Region. - Meeting agreed key sales objectives and perform other tasks that may be required as directed by the Sales Manager. Responsibilities and Duties - Promptly pursue sales leads generated through corporate advertising, incoming inquiries, trade journals, trade shows and company colleagues for the complete company product portfolio. - Ensure a prompt response to all potential opportunities and customer requests at all times, even when this may not be directly related to your primary role. - Respond promptly to customer requirements for product quotations and proposals. - Ensure that at all times you remain fully equipped to respond to customer inquiries, in terms of product literature, pricing, presentations, demonstration equipment and samples. - Self manage all of the activity associated with the role in an efficient manner so as to best utilise economy of travel, best office practise, utilisation of in-office company departmental communication and out-of-office customer facing scenarios. - Produce detailed visit reports within a reasonable period of time following a visit. - Submit detailed expense reports for each travel period to the Sales Manager for approval. - Produce annual travel plan with regular monthly updates. - Produce monthly input to the forecasting process including: Input Forecast, Output Forecast and 3-Month Target List. Produce Pursuit Plans for each customer on the Forecast Sheet. Become actively involved with the long-range forecasting functions. - Produce monthly report containing details of sales activity including: major quotations, new leads, major sales prospects, market trends and visit plans for coming month and details of lost orders. - Attend exhibitions and conferences as and when required. - Provide marketing information as to customer requirements, regional trends, competitors, etc. - Continuously strive to understand the complete range of Integrated Sensing products in terms of functionality, pricing, market position and competitiveness. - Maintain an expectation that you will spend around 50% of your available time, visiting the customers and potential customers in your region. - Liaise with the Product Support Team to ensure effective post-sales support. At all times be aware as to the current support status of the customs within the your area of geographic responsibility. Core Competencies and Behaviours - Able to achieve key sales objectives whilst remaining within annual operating budgets, achieving cost effectiveness savings where possible. - Able to undertake all activities in a disciplined and professional manner. - Prepare for, attend and contribute actively to all external and internal meetings as required, and execute all follow-up actions in agreed timescales. - Perform as a team player exercising excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasively with a wide variety of people, up to very senior levels. - Exercise excellent management and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. - Remain highly self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision. - Must be prepared to travel throughout the World. Qualifications / Experience - Relevant sales experience and proven track record in the Aerospace Industry, and the ability to demonstrate competence to successfully carry out the requirements of the role. - Hold a current and clean driving licence The position will be based in Christchurch, Hampshire. 50% of the time will be spent travelling across Europe meeting with clients and attending exhibitions. The Basic Salary offered for the position will be £36-40K + sales incentive + car + pension.
