| * Our client is a specialist "Process Systems Integrator" serving the global Oil and Gas market. * The company provides a total design and supply capability for integrated process systems, and individual process packages, from front-end engineering design studies, through to detailed design, construction, commissioning and operations. * At the time of writing, the Group's key markets are: * FPSO Topsides * Detailed Engineering Services * Concept Screening, Conceptual, & FEED studies to the Independent Operators * Field development and engineering services * The majority of the Group projects are located overseas, therefore requiring a lot of co-ordination between the head office in Bristol and the various overseas associate companies, customers, suppliers and partners. Scope of Responsibilities: * Responsible for managing the day to day engineering activities of the Company. * Ensuring that all engineering work is delivered in a professional manner in accordance with Quality Procedures to recognised international engineering practices and standards. * Ensuring that appropriate personnel and engineering software/hardware resources for the Engineering department to support project, proposals and R&D work and reporting same to the Managing Director. * Managing the engineering team to ensure efficient and effective use of available resources. * Establishing and maintaining systems and procedures in accordance with the Company's QA procedures to maximise the technical and commercial security of the Company. * Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting. * Flexibility to travel in support of key proposals and projects, in the UK, and overseas. * Other duties as required. support project, proposals and R&D work and reporting same to the Managing Director. * Managing the engineering team to ensure efficient and effective use of available resources. * Establishing and maintaining systems and procedures in accordance with the Company's QA procedures to maximise the technical and commercial security of the Company. * Engineering problem solving and troubleshooting. * Flexibility to travel in support of key proposals and projects, in the UK, and overseas. * Other duties as required. Secondary Duties: * Reviewing project engineering deliverables and performance with regards to process guarantees. * Reviewing engineering procedures for control of documentation, reviews, mark up of drawings and implementing procedures where not developed. * Reviewing engineering team and its skills balance to identify any potential difficulties. * Reviewing a mentoring program for inexperienced engineers. * Reviewing the standardisation of the process and sizing calculations for their Delta range of products. * Reviewing engineering proposal formats with regard to methods of estimating engineering only work and defining deliverables Qualifications: *Technical degree or equivalent in subjects such as Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. * Able to use engineering software to a high level. * Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry with wide experience of engineering and proven track record in managing engineering teams and associated problem solving. * A well organised self-starter with a positive outlook, team leadership skills, and a clear focus to get the job done in an environment of rapidly changing priorities against challenging deadlines. | ||
