Lead Cost Estimator

Primary objective:-

Develop Type I, II, III & IV CAPEX cost estimates and OPEX cost estimates for projects.  These estimates are to include engineering, project management, procurement, fabrication, transport, installation, hook-up & commissioning, OPEX and abandonment. 

Specific Accountabilities:-

Develop project procedures & methodologies for the preparation of cost estimates for green-field and brown-field developments.

Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of estimates in accordance with approved procedures for all phases of the works.

Benchmark estimates by carrying out validation and verification of the estimate using high level norms and by comparing with previous estimates, outcome costs, industry norms and vendor prices.

Collecting/generating equipment and MTO information working with discipline engineers involved in the project for costing and compilation into the cost estimate.

Prepare rationale statements to support the estimate identifying areas of weakness and or areas of risk.

Perform Monte Carlo type risk analysis of costs estimates to determine contingency and accuracy levels.

Participate in peer and corporate/client estimate reviews and present completed estimates for peer and corporate/client estimate reviews.

Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc

Safety - Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Essential Skills/Experience:-

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.

Minimum 15 years experience in Oil & Gas project work.

Matching Indicators:-

Engineering Degree/Trade background or relevant years experience.
