Job Description:
We currently have an opening for a Calibration Engineer to work with one of our aerospace clients in the Portsmouth area. Ideally you will have a previous knowledge of test / calibration engineering.

The Calibration Engineer is responsible for all aspects of electro/mechanical instrumentation and testing standards in Production and Engineering. The job holder will recommend methods and standards for measurement, maintain calibration of all instrumentation and condition monitor the operation of test rigs including fluid standards.

The Calibration Engineer will liaise with Production, Engineering and Quality in maintaining standards recommending improvements and shall be well acquainted with industry and regulatory requirements and latest digital electronic instrumentation.

Knowledge in the use of the following electronic calibration equipment:
1. Oscilloscope (including storage)
2. Digital Multimeter
3. Timer, Counter, Time/Frequency Measurement
4. Insulation Breakdown Measurement
5. Function Generator
6. Power Supplies (including 3 phase)
7. Set up of Panel Meters
8. Competent is all aspects of PC use
9. Fully conversant in the use of spreadsheets.

Must have Secondary Education with GCSE passes coupled with BTech Eduction (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The successful candidate is also likely to have the equivalent to five years of product engineering or test experience.
