Job Summary

Processes export shipments for an assigned base of accounts under the direct supervision of an Air or Ocean Export teamleader. Models and acts in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Process and comply with all requirements listed under Letters of Credit.
- Prepare profitable quotations accurately.
- Reply to overseas inquiries in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Maintain clear oral and written communication with clients.
- Provide excellent and timely customer service by informing clients of the status of their shipments under the direct.
- Arrange inland freight services / collections.
- Book freight with air and ocean lines.
- Handle export files from A to Z, including NES entries, invoicing, and filing.
- Advise team leader or supervisor of any problems or irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
- Actively pursue a better understanding of the export process through self study, on-site training and on-the-job training by approved sources.
- Improve understanding and knowledge of the established export system, in both its basic and advanced features.


Computer Skills
- PC literate.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.

Other Skills/Experience
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based or job specific software applications.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of international currencies, weights, volume and distance measurements.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs and responds to requests for service and assistance.
- Read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence.
- Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Gathers and analyses information skilfully.
- Balances team and individual responsibilities, and exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.
- Consistently at work and on time.
