A premier brand for polymer-based solutions, and a world leader in the sectors of construction, automotive and industry are looking for an experienced General Sales Manager.

Location: Slough
Hours: Full Time 37.5 Hours

Job Spec
Reporting into the Divisional Business Director, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the efficiency and profitability of the business within this region. Involved from the outset in developing strategies to grow our business, you will directly manage a large team of field and office based sales staff. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting and setting and meeting sales targets. In addition, you will take personal charge of certain large key accounts
-Proactively build and maintain strategic relationships with senior customer executives enabling a positive impact in the following key areas:
- Understanding of the customers market and business strategy
- Influencing the customer's product strategy
- Promotion of the product offerings
- Drive customer satisfaction activities, understanding the output and ensuring that appropriate action is taken to address issues and resolve problems,
- Create attractive propositions to meet the customers' business needs. Feeding information on our customers' strategies back to Marketing to help shape our offerings in line with customer requirements.
- Own & rigorously manage the Account P&L in conjunction with Finance Managers. This will include maintaining the account P&L and tracking all changes to it, ensuring invoices are raised for all chargeable activities, owning debt balances and assisting finance in resolving debt collection issues and other associated activities to maintain the P&L in good order. Performance indicators will include meeting the targets for margin, revenue, costs & debt profiles.

Team Overview
30 Heads including 2/3 Sales Managers, Split of Field and Internal sales plus Admin Support

Person Spec
Ideally qualified to degree level (or equivalent), you will have a proven track record in industrial sales as well as experience of managing a sales team. To succeed in this role you will need to have excellent leadership skills and the ability to work in a technical environment. You will need vision, drive, tenacity and determination, and a desire to succeed in a challenging environment. A working knowledge of German would be an advantage but is not essential as candidates will be judged first and foremost on their sales management capabilities.

- Outstanding communication skills, both written and inter-personal
- Ability to deal with, and influence, senior internal and external customers.
- Strong track record as an effective manager of sales teams - managing people through people

Package:Base Salary - Slough £48.5k to £60k per annumBirmingham £45.5k to £55.5k per annum+ Bonus Scheme (Performance based - 3 levels of progression, 10%, 20% and 30%)
Pension - Stake Holder - Employer Contribution double Employee Contribution. Minimum employee contribution is 3%, Maximum employer contribution is 10%)
Car - Cash Payment of £6,500 per annum+ Private Health Care - Free for Self
