| Our client, a leading Oil and Gas company is looking for a Principal Process Engineer to work in their North East offices. The role We have an opening within our Engineering Department for a Principal Process Engineer. Reporting to the Process Manager, this is an excellent opportunity to work within the Engineering function across the Power and Process Division of the company. Key Tasks Responsible for ensuring Process Engineering deliverables are fit for purpose, at the correct level of detail and quality for the project and are issued on time and within budget. Responsible for the complete discipline scope on a small project, or for an assigned part of the scope on a larger project. Required to supervise other engineers and designers. Works to own initiative with only formal checking of work to fulfil requirements of Company procedures. Advises on quality and SHE aspects of designs and ensuring work is carried out to accepted design and safety standards. Supports members of the discipline in the project team to ensure work is carried out effectively and high morale is maintained. Ensures that, and demonstrates to the client that, work is being carried out affectively and economically. Project Specific: Preparing man-hour estimates for work and production of list of deliverables Carrying out engineering investigations, surveys and studies necessary to develop area of work assigned. Reviewing resources on project and raising requests for additional resources if necessary (by agreement with PEM) through the Discipline Manager. Establishing a system filing of correspondence, data, drawings etc. Managing production of calculations and deliverables required. Ensuring all necessary checking and approval of calculations / deliverables is carried out. Production of scope of work for any services required. Managing and reporting man-hours spent and managing any changes to scope. Ensuring adherence to schedule and producing discipline progress reports. General Process duties e.g. P&ID development, HYSYS simulations, datasheet generation or HAZOP attendance. Skills / Knowledge / Experience The successful candidate will have a degree is Chemical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and previous Oil and Gas experience. Added to this they will have a substantial experience in a similar role.
