| This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers (preferably with a systems / electrical / electronic / communications background) who have an aspiration to develop their career in a multi-disciplined technology environment. As a Project Engineer you will be required to support your Project Managers through the delivery of tasks across a broad range of projects. You will apply (and where necessary develop) an understanding of engineering and management techniques to deliver quality products and services to their Clients. This will include the provision of support to communications, electrical, systems biased and multi-disciplined projects (where necessary considering aspects such as environmental, geotechnical, civil, and structural engineering). Applicants will provide a valuable contribution toward the development of graduate and junior engineers and demonstrate a willingness to develop your own technical knowledge and understanding. The successful candidate will hold a qualification in an engineering discipline along with recent working experience in at least one of the following areas; communications industry, highways environment, consulting engineering, design office/site environment. You will possess a detailed technical understanding of technology systems, (preferably including those operated by the Highways Agency), including VMS, vehicle detection, CCTV, transmission, communications protocols, power (HV/LV) sub system operations. Candidates should have knowledge of Highways Agency, British and European Standards and a strong technical report writing skills. You will have an awareness of construction projects in a highways or rail environment and an awareness of various forms of contract. The role requires excellent communication skills through which you will develop strong technical credibility with clients and colleagues alike. Your willingness to identify personal development areas and to work towards addressing them is critical.
