| Principal Engineer / Associate required for our client which is one of the world's fastest-growing design, engineering and management consultancies. Based in Birmingham Introduction Our organisation comprises specialist service groups dedicated to Infrastructure and Utilities, specialising in Water, Highway Design and Supervision, Highway Operation and Maintenance, Bridges and Civils, Rail, Network Communications and Mobile Communications. We are now looking to extend our Water team and are actively seeking a Principal Engineer / Associate to join our team in Birmingham. Responsibilities Your principal role will be project management and hands-on design to deliver predominantly sewerage infrastructure projects. You can expect to be active on a number of projects/client accounts at any given time. You will be leading and mentoring a team of experienced technical staff of various grades. The position will report to an Associate. You will also input into bid documentation, fee proposals and present to clients / potential clients. Requirements You will be currently working as a Principal Engineer / Project Manager within a consultancy, contractor, water company or regulator with experience of leading project teams to deliver sewerage infrastructure projects. In addition it would be useful to have knowledge of modelling (Infoworks / Microdrainage or similar). Experience within the water sector is essential, with rail, highway and infrastructure drainage experience beneficial. You will need to have good written and spoken communication skills including report writing, and be comfortable dealing with both clients and staffs of all levels. Preferred Qualifications/Education BSc/BEng qualified. Chartered Engineer status and membership of a relevant institution (e.g. MICE, MCIWEM). Skills A proven track record of leading a team, project management and delivering sewerage infrastructure projects within the water industry. Interpersonal and team working skills are a must, as is a flexible approach and a willingness to learn. Must have demonstrable ability to operate at the level defined. Knowledge High volume of postgraduate experience in the stated discipline, the majority of which must have been in the water industry working on sewerage infrastructure projects.
