| About the Role My are seeking a Bridge Inspector to undertake inspections of Highway Structures in Essex as part of our Client Support Contract with Essex County Council. You will be working as a member of the Bridge Maintenance team, carrying out inspections of highway structures, preparing reports on the condition of the structures, identifying work required in addition to recording bridge data and assisting with updating the computerised Bridge Management System. The inspections will occasionally include confined space entry, working from a mobile elevated platform, using a boat access and working on Network Rail property. Training will be provided if necessary. You will also be required to respond to the occasional out of normal hours emergency call out on bridges. You will be required to liaise with Statutory Undertakers regarding NRSWA notifications involving the placing of plant or equipment on bridges. Additionally, you will liaise with the Essex County Council term contractor for bridge maintenance to arrange minor repair works identified at the inspections and act as visiting site representative of the Engineer to ensure that the works are carried out to specification.
