Job Description:


Main duties:
To develop and maintain best practice in developing vehicle power supply system, technologies, processes and equipment throughout the advance engineering, product development, manufacturing, transportation and service phases of existing and future vehicles.
Develop standards and specifications pertinent to future power supply.
The power supply system is the foundation of the electrical architecture, enabling the fitment of increasing number of electrical features. The robustness and efficiency of the power supply system is therefore critical to the robustness of the features and overall vehicle fuel efficiency.

The key deliverables of the role include identifying best practice strategies across the various elements, rolling out these strategies throughout our clients operations chain and, critically, maintaining these for the long term, applying improvements as new technologies and system architectures appear.
The role demands a high level of knowledge of the vehicle electrical architecture and electrical features.

Technical Skills:
> Qualified to degree level in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
> Hybrid systems experience preferred.
> Background in automotive electrical power systems an advantage.
> Experience of EDS.
> Distributed control networks, requirements capture and validation, embedded control software specification
> Understanding of the automotive environment.

Knowledge:
> Power supply generation, storage and intelligent power management technologies
> Electrical feature requirements (power level, profile and redundancy) and their impact to vehicle attributes
> Power supply system development process (simulation, component sizing and selection, packaging, calibration, climatic tests, sign off and problem solving)
> Internal and external user usage profile (from manufacturing to end-customer to end-of-life)
