| Background Info: The team provides the technical strategic management; design, development and support of all computer and electronic sub systems, mechanical instrumentation systems and software applications within the company. This role would support the the system design and development of all subsystems within the company. Job Role: System, analogue and digital design, simulation, development, validation, verification and documentation Hardware/Software/System design partitioning Generation of proposals for research projects and IP generation that support the business plan Key Skills Systems and control theory - Signal processing, Advanced control, Mechatronics In depth knowledge of NDE and Non Destructive Test Embedded hardware and software Analogue and digital electronics OrCAD, FPGA, PSPICE, HDL design, simulation and implementation Image processing Mathematical modelling, MatLab & Simulink DSP hardware and software Understanding of high level software (specification, planning and control) Mechanics and electro-mechanics Power electronics In depth knowledge of relevant physics (ultrasonics, optics, Electro Magnetics) Reliability system budgets ISO 9001-2000, EMC, RoSH, H&S and other relevant standards Installation and commissioning of equipment on customer sites European languages useful Physically fit and able to get on and off trains with no platform or ladder and walk long distances on the ballast Chartered Engineer desirable Essential Knowledge: System level design, simulation, specification and documentation Products and systems verification and validation Hardware/software system partitioning Algorithm specification Specify, design and implement systems to customer requirements (internal and external) Identify relevant technologies Propose and implement research projects Contribute to the generation and management of Intellectual Property Contribute to the generation of new business Essential Skills: Understand and use DSP algorithms Imagination and flair Strong mathematical skills Analogue amplifiers, filters, noise performance EDA tools, PSPICE, MatLab, MathCAD, Simulink Fluent in VHDL programming Good communication skills in English, both written and oral Good interpersonal skills Essential Experience: Upper 2nd class BSc (Hons) in Electronic Engineering, Physics or associated degree A minimum of five years working in system design and development environment in industry with a proven track record Work with other departments to provide solutions To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Matchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. | ||
