Principal Contaminated Land Scientist/Engineer

The Role:

• Planning site investigations, preparing Phase 1, 2 and 3 contaminated land reports and design and management of remediation measures.

• To assist the Partners, Associates and other engineers in providing satisfactory remediation and engineering solutions; including details for isolation barriers etc. in relation to contamination issues and remedial work specifications including the use of current and appropriate assessment software.

• To lead the development of Practice Guidance Notes in relation to contaminated land and other environmental issues and the control of hazardous waste in relation to construction and development issues; including the dissemination of pertinent information to engineers and technicians involved in engineering design processes.

• To direct and work with technicians and less senior contamination scientists who may be assigned to projects that you may be working upon.

• When required to work in the field/ on-site gathering necessary information and/or undertaking periodic site inspections.

• To assist the Partners and Principal Engineers in marketing and developing the firm.

This is a senior position suitable to a motivated individual capable of building and developing a dedicated team. The candidate we are seeking will be either Chartered or near Chartered and a member of CIWEM or IEMA.

Excellent working environment and salary. You will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team of engineers undertaking a wide range of development work. You will be participating in the whole engineering process of taking a Brownfield site from dereliction through to modern re-usage. This position is suitable for a motivated individual wishing to work within busy office working on a wide range of development work throughout the UK.
