| A Contract Manager is needed to manage an ongoing Installation project in the Marine field. The candidate must have a good Mechanical & Electrical Background, as interpretations of diagrams will be necessary. A defence / Commercial experience mix is ideal Job Description To be the Contract Manager to ensure continuity of the contract and pursue other opportunities to expand this area of the company's business To provide Engineering and Contract Management expertise to the satisfaction of the customer, whilst maximising contract profitability RESPONSIBILITIES: Programme Management - Manage the Contract to provide installation, logistic and administrative support to a MoD Customer - Liaise with Customer, raising contract tasks when required to enable forward planning (purchasing, financial and installation) of future installations as determined by the Programme Officer - Act as principal point of contact for all contractual issues in relation to sub contracts associated with this service - Act as stand in for the Installation Manager in times of leave/sickness etc - Act as stand in for the Project Co-ordinator in times of leave /sickness etc - Attend initial start up survey meeting to ensure that programme, technical and interface requirements are fully understood and implemented - Liaise closely with Contract Installation Manager to ensure timely completion of installation work in line with ship availability and conflicting emergent work - Authorise work completion and task sign-off - Maintain awareness of Arkonia purchases for the contract - Drive Company vehicles within the constraints of current motoring law - Maintain awareness of ISO9001 standards and operating procedures - Ensure your own health and safety and that of others in the vicinity - Work together for the mutual benefit of the Company and each other KEY SKILLS: - Experience in the management of engineering, financial and personnel issues in a complex, fast-paced environment - Full understanding and the ability to interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings and specifications - Possess an understanding of MoD (Royal Navy) engineering standards and ship engineering procedures - Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project applications - Full UK driving licence For reasons of national security only exclusively British nationals can apply for these roles.
