| My client have more than half a century of experience managing, planning, designing and overseeing the construction of transportation systems. Their multidisciplinary professionals provide innovative solutions to rehabilitate, expand, upgrade, and maintain airports, roads, motorways, bridges, rail stations and depots as well as underground facilities. Their expertise has encompassed all classes of roads from local access and estate roads through to new strategic motorways, bypasses and improvement schemes. An opportunity has arisen in the Bedfordshire region for a Highways Engineer to join their team with the right candidate standing the chance to be offered a permanant role. Job requirements: Honours Degree in Civil Engineering. Working towards Chartered Status. Broad experience of Highway design. Knowledge of Highways Agency procedures and standards. Experience of CDM. Job Description : Design of major highway and development infrastructure projects. Ensure complete understanding of the requirements of the task. Apply technical principles (including codes of practice/standards). Undertake design. Communicate through Project Management Structure. Liaise with other stakeholders. Work in accordance and assist with preparation of Project Plan. Assist in the preparation of Design and Check Certificates. Assist in preparation of all other necessary approvals/submissions. Give clear instructions to others. Undertake designers risk assessment. Understand and work within deadlines and constraints. Communicate any issues/problems/development to Project Team.
