| My client, a top 5 global engineering consultancy is loooking for an Engineer in their London Office, within the Highways and Transportation business to work as part of their intelligent Transport Systems team. They have the power to combine innovative design solutions with unrivalled expertise in the engineering sector. Intelligent Transport Systems is an integral part of the business and is the UK's premier ITS consultancy dealing with all aspects of traffic monitoring and control including all new technologies such as: Traffic signal feasibility studies, design, installation and commissioning UTMC (Urban Traffic Management Control) Journey time reliability Congestion management ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) CCTV (Closed Circuit TV) VMS (Variable Message Signs) Car park guidance The aim is to exceed customer expectation by being involved with high-tech solutions that can produce significant efficiencies; whilst also delivering environmental benefits. This position is based in the London office, but will involve projects in other parts of the UK. Key Responsibilities: Carry out/ manage design and installation of Intelligent Transport Systems Production of transportation reports and capacity modelling including Linsig and Transyt Take responsibility for a team of Assistant Engineers and Technicians Monitor financial status and progress of schemes to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget Lead in the development of traffic information systems Production of estimates for schemes Coordinate the collation and analysis of traffic data Responsibilities Degree / HNC or HND (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline would be desirable Professionally qualified or working towards Incorporated or Chartered status Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word Computer literate with the aptitude to learn new software packages Full driving licence Experience of technical design and / or installation work within a technical field, preferably related to ITS Experience of project management The Individual The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of: Ability to work collaboratively in a complex matrix structure Ability to assist and guide less experienced staff on technical delivery and project management Ability to show initiative and examples of creativity A clear and thorough communication style Flexible attitude If this seems like an opportunity you believe you can fit into, please apply immediately, as my client is waiting to hear from high calibre individuals that fit this mould!
