| My client a top 5 global engineering consultancy, require a Highways Design Engineer to support our growing and diverse highways design business. The roles they offer give the excitement and challenge of the design and management of your own projects from concept through to completion. The role will provide a range of challenging and dynamic projects where you will have the ability to receive and develop a brief and contribute to the development of the design and construction process. Duties to include: Prepare designs or highways schemes Monitor the designs produced to ensure they meet the design briefs set by the Delivery Team Ensure designs are appropriate and meet the expected levels of technical excellence Seek innovation in the delivery of schemes and techniques used to design and construct them Attending client meetings Liaising with internal and external clients and third parties Candidate specification Essential requirements: BSe/BSc in Civil Engineering or equivalent 3 years experience in highways design Previous experience of working in or with a multi-disciplinary consultancy Team Player Auto-CAD experience Effective in both verbal and written communication Professional, courteous and motivated Desirable criteria: A post graduate qualification in a highways or transportation related subject would be desirable Exposure/experience of UK highways design codes Previous client facing experience Experience in the use of MX packages If this sounds like an opportunity that won't last, you are right!
