| My client is one of the top 5 engineering and environmental consultancies in Europe. In the UK and Ireland they have 11 strategically located offices working for clients in both the private and public sectors. The company primarily provides design and engineering solutions across four main sectors. These are: Water, Environment and Building, Highways & Transportation, and Systems. Outline of role Able to successfully lead and manage a large team of engineers and technicians involved in feasibility and detailed design. Current projects include large ECI and D&C schemes. However, we also have projects for local councils, via framework commissions, and via our other internal expertise areas. The role will involve acting as the focal point for the highways team, representing the team and client directly with external clients and other teams and disciplines within the group. Qualifications required: As a minimum you should be a Chartered Engineer (MICE). A recognized degree in a relevant discipline is also required. Experience required An ability to manage and co-ordinate, from a technical, financial, and programme viewpoint, large projects and/or a number of smaller schemes. Technical competence, programme management, and the ability to communicate at all levels is a key requirement. In-depth knowledge of UK design standards is also of paramount importance. The work is predominantly in the Highways sector. The role will be based in the West Midlands area.
