| SITE ENGINEER - CIVILS MAJOR CONTRACTOR - £25-35K + Package £300million!?! This is the size of the contract recently secured by our client. Impressive in itself but simply another flagship civil construction project that will be worked on by this Major contractor in 2008. Due to the securing of this project they are looking to bring in site engineers who have experience but are looking to work on larger projects with a leading contractor. Your key activities as a site engineer will be to: * Set a high personal example of safety and environmental behaviour * Supervise sub-contractors * Monitor the work under their control to ensure that any unsafe work conditions and non compliance with company policies and procedures are promptly remedied * Maintain good working relations with sub contractors and senior engineers, agents. * Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques * Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works * Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence * Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided * Arrange formal checking of setting out and ensure check request form is completed * Maintain survey books and daily diaries * Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time You will have: * Experience at site or assistant site engineer level working with a top 20 UK main contractor * Experience working on infrastructure and heavy concrete works * All site safety cards * Thorough knowledge of construction procedures and working methods * Qualifications in Civil Engineering either HND or Degree You will be given the opportunity to fast track your career with ongoing support and full training to develop you within the business.
