Job Description:
Our client, part of one of the UK's largest food groups requires a technical / quality coordinator for their East London factory.

ROLE:

Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, the successful candidate will oversee and co-ordinate the activities of the Technical Function integrated with Manufacturing in order to achieve required standards of quality, good manufacturing practice and process control according to policy and procedures, customer requirements and legislation.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

> STAFF continual assessment of manufacturing operatives to ensure awareness of Technical and Quality Procedures. This will include briefing, running training sessions, raising awareness of quality issues and ensuring site policies are adhered to.
> QUALITY SYSTEMS Involvement in the installation and maintenance of Quality Systems including ISO9002, BRC and AIB, through continual auditing of systems and implementing change where necessary.
> HACCP Involvement in ensuring HACCP is operated throughout the site with particular emphasis on Auditing, training and administration.
> CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS Involvement in the monitoring, investigating and trending of complaints data. Initiating action plans to reduce the incidence of customer complaints in line with company KPIs. Involvement with EHO investigations and visiting EHos and customers where required.
> WEIGHT CONTROL Recording and evaluating data to ensure the site is operating to legal requirements. Ensuring equipment validation and calibration in all aspects of weight control.
> TECHNICAL VISITS Involvement in ensuring the site and systems records are prepared prior to Technical visits and audits. Active involvement in Technical visits and liaising with Auditors. Preparing responses and action plans following through to successful completion.
> AUDITING Ensuring internal audits re carried out to schedule. Organising and monitoring auditing effectiveness. Ensuring non-conformances are raised and followed through to satisfactory completion for all audits.
> FOREIGN BODY CONTROL Enforcing GMP to reduce incidence of foreign matter in product.
> HEALTH AND SAFETY Reporting of hazards and issues to assist in the prevention of accidents. To investigate accidents within the Technical and Hygiene departments. To follow safe systems of work and undertake risk assessments of procedures within the department.
o Make all existing safe systems of work known to staff and monitor compliance
o Ensure all staff are aware of any relevant new operations and procedures
o Instruct all employees as to their responsibilities
o Ensure all staff is inducted in H&S matters and any risks in the specific area of work before commencing work.
o All relevant staff receive training on the required tasks and to assess this training on an ongoing basis
