Job Description:
Our client, part of the UK's largest food group have an urgent vacancy for a technician testing raw materials in the food industry.

JOB PURPOSE
Working safely to produce timely, reliable, accurate quality and performance data about raw materials and products for use of others in the business. (Decisions and Policy)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
TESTING
Carry out tests as directed using prescribed methods whilst meeting required timescales
Report on concerns with method / outcomes to Tech II
Retest as required and in agreement with Tech II
Adhere to stock control policies.

EQUIPMENT
To ensure all equipment used in test procedures:
is operating effectively prior to execution and following completion of the test
Meets required hygiene standards
Report any concerns / issues to the Tech II in a timely manner.

RECORDING & REPORTING RESULTS
Ensure all required results from test procedures are reported clearly and accurately and within the required timescales using the relevant record documents and media.
Highlight apparent anomalies and report to Tech II

ASSIST IN MEETING LAB FUNCTION
Carry out tests to meet:
Scheduled requirements and/or
Known priorities e.g. Complaints
Using discretion to maximise Laboratory performance and service levels.

HEALTH & SAFETY
Be aware of and comply with all Health and Safety legislation and Company requirements including personal duty of care.

KNOWLEDGE & SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS
Essential
Educated to A Level preferably in science or relevant experience.
