| Our client is looking for an experienced Process Design Engineer to work in their Oil and Gas division. Will perform and/ or co-ordinate all aspects of the design of customised process systems. This will entail generating basic heat and material balances, utility balances, specification and sizing of vessels and related components, preparation of process and instrument data sheets, computer simulation studies and development of PFD's and P&ID's. Will function as the technical liaison externally to the customer and contractor as well as internally. Senior grades will function in a technical management capacity supervising other engineers. Unique Aspects of Job (Travel, Overseas, Overtime, Work hours, etc.) Close co-ordination with other engineering disciplines. Ideal position for the hands on engineer willing to be involved in not only the process/project aspect of the job but also the mechanical detail issues of project implementation. Opportunity to work closely with experts in refining and petrochemical processes. The nature of project implementation requires close coordination with other departments to take a project from conception through design and project implementation using operations feedback to improve future designs. More experienced personnel will be involved in revamp type work requiring close coordination with the customer and contractor and the capability of coming up with innovative design solutions to specific operating issues. This often includes travel to site to address equipment installation issues. There may be Light travel (up to 10 %) which will increase with experience and responsibility. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - A BSc degree in Chemical Engineering. - Relevant experience in a process or project engineering capacity within the refining/petrochemical industry. - Strong project management skills. - A demonstrated ability to interface effectively with external customers and contractors, as well as with internal groups. - Excellent oral and written communication skills with a flexible, team oriented style.
