| Bid Manager - Senior Estimator - Essex £60 - £70K + Benefits Our Client is a family owned and directed Construction Company with a strong, 'hands-on' approach to the management of its operations. It has enjoyed three decades of steady growth concentrating on the supply of construction, refurbishment and regeneration services to the Public Sector and key commercial clients. In addition to its core construction business our client also provides many construction specialities including partnering, design and construct and complex mechanical and electrical services installations. Due to continued success in the South East they are now looking to recruit a Bid Manager/Senior Estimator to work out of their head office in Essex. Primary responsibilities To provide the most realistic net price for the project Liase with consultants as appropriate in tender preparation Where required carry out analytical build up of unit rates Obtain competitive subcontractor and supplier quotations in accordance with guidance notes available Ensure all subcontractor packages are sent out in good time Taking off in general accordance with standard method of measurement Prepare tender settlement sheet and attend tender settlement meetings Check all tender document information is available and of a standard suitable for tendering Undertake site visits in preparation of tenders and take photos Price all works in line with current market conditions. Knowledge and experience Position requires comprehensive knowledge of estimating and tendering procedures to accurately price tender packages in accordance with standard company estimating procedures and to suit return dates where applicable. You will have a substantial professional background in the estimating aspect of the construction industry. A suitable and recognised qualification in building is an advantage.
