| We currently require a student to undetake a placement year with a bespoke manufacturer that specialises in the design, qualification and manufacture of composite components for the aerospace and defense markets. A company of around 250 people and a turnover of £20 million, the company is currently recruiting in a number of disciplines to fulfill the demands of an impressive and expanding order book and we have recently added significantly to the strength of the Engineering Department. Our product range is extensive, extending from large radome primary structure on fast jets such as Typhoon to small high temperature components for Rolls Royce engines. To support new & existing opportunities we have a requirement for a student placement at our Shepshed site. The main roles and responsibilities are > Assist in the introduction of new components into production > Improvement of existing processes and tooling > Support and development of working practices for Quality and NADCAP approvals > 3D and 2D model development - CAD skills required The ability to work effectively with a wide range of people is also essential together with the ability to demonstrate and implement innovative solutions.
