| A chance exists for a world leading Marine & Offshore Company who provide a total solution for the electrical discipline for the Offshore, Naval, Commercial and Super Yacht markets. The Successful Candidate will be: Pro-active; solve problems before they become a crisis. Cost aware / commercial understanding. Capability to listen, learn and change. Practical approach; both in technical and organizational matters. Team player. Able to communicate effectively ( verbally and in writing ) with technicians and non-technicians Prepared to work across the UK. They must also be able to demonstrate the relevant marine electrical experience ( Merchant and Naval ) with excellent knowledge of the design / engineering process. In any of the following areas:- # HV/LV power generation / distribution, platform automation, bridge, navigation, comms, HVAC (electrical), electrical installations and associated system integration skills. # In accordance with Marine standards and Regulatory bodies such as MCA, Lloyds, DNV, NES etc # Knowledge of CAD tools (AutoCAD and preferably EPLAN), databases (Oracle based Access) and office automation (MS-office) Necessary Qualifications:- # Design engineers should be qualified to B-Tech level or have relevant marine electrical design office experience. Day-to-Day Duties will include: - # Designing basic electrical layouts for ships; deliverable as a set of block diagrams or draft/concept/1st issue single line diagrams. # Identifying all relevant requirements (customer, standards, norms, rules). #Trying to relax cost / risk-driving requirements. # Specifying the technical solution (concept design; block diagram) of the electrical installation (E-systems, automation systems and E-interface with Marine / Platform systems) that is (just) compliant with customer requirements and fully (as complete as possible) compliant with characteristics of IMO systems and construction preferences. # Identifying commercial / technical ambiguities, risks and opportunities. # Presenting / discussing / improving solutions (block diagrams) to client, certifying bodies and - internally - to IMO system and construction teams. # Detailing requirements / set specification of power generation / distribution system, alarm and monitoring system, electrical propulsion and bridge (navigation / communication and motion control) systems. # Giving technical support to and communicate with client and other IMO teams (system design, installation engineering and construction). # Evaluating design and process internally during and at completion of projects.
