| We currently have a requirement for a Senior Design Engineer to work within the aerospace industry. This is a fantastic opportunity that will offer a great product range as well as development opportunities. Your role will be to define a product that meets the customer's requirements and expectations within the agreed timescales and costs using 2D or 3D CAD software with supporting analysis. To supervise subordinate staff as directed. Key Responsibilities Produce design solutions for new products and product modifications, liaising with Drawing Office, and Performance & Stress engineers. Work concurrently with Manufacturing Engineers to ensure Design for Manufacture. Produce detail designed 3D solid models using Pro-Engineer software. Approval of detail manufacturing drawings. Carry out supporting stress, performance and tolerancing calculations relating to designs. Assist Operations in all aspects to support the manufactured or purchased product for both new and legacy products. Attend Design Assessments/Reviews and, if required MRB, CCB etc. Supervise subordinate staff. Experience required: At least 5 years experience in a relevant design environment ideally gained in the Aerospace Industry. 5 years 3-D CAD experience, preferably Pro-E Wildfire CATIA V5 experience also desirable. In depth understanding of manufacturing processes in a batch production environment. Experience of castings and machining of castings desirable. Experience in electromechanical assemblies desirable. Qualification required: Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
