| My client specialises in the design and manufacture of medical devices, they currently have a requirement for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on their site in Basingstoke. Overall purpose of job -To facilitate the manufacturing of high quality existing and new products through the provision of engineering support services -To assist in the definition and enhancement of manufacturing processes from supplier through to end user -Involvement in the specification, design and manufacture of a range of high quality, reliable products Principal Accountabilities -To support the manufacturing strategy and the development and ongoing continuation of a manufacturing engineering function capable of designing and sustaining high performance processes and systems encompassing Lean Manufacturing philosophies such as 6 Sigma, kaizen, poke-yoke and JIT -To participate in the introduction of new products providing manufacturing process and DFM expertise in support of the product development team in order to achieve maximum throughput and minimal complexity -Assisting the process of ensuring that adequate design controls and processes have been implemented and utilised in the design and release of the products and services for manufacturing and subsequent shipment to customers -To participate in ongoing product and process enhancements to improve manufacturability and performance improvements -Support the ongoing compliance with the UK Department of Health GMP and its subsequent replacement by the requirements of the EC Medical Directives, ISO9000, EN49000, EN29000 and all associated quality system requirements -In conjunction with the engineering, quality and service organisation teams, assist in the establishment of systems capable of the capture and analysis of all quality information pertaining to our products and services in order to provide focus in our efforts to enhance our current quality levels -To review, update and initiate manufacturing procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations -To assist the customer service function in order to enhance the handling of customer queries, product returns, complaints or feedback in a timely and comprehensive manner -To assist in the technical assessment of new and existing suppliers to satisfy product cost, quality and delivery targets/expectations Person specification -Engineer Degree or HND in Mechanical/Electronic/Manufacturing Engineering -Computer literate with good presentation skills -Excellent analytical and report writing skills -Ability to plan and organise -Ability to work with little supervision; thrives under pressure -Flexible team attitude and good interpersonal skills To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Matchtech Group Plc is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy. | ||
