| A superb opportunity has arisen to work for a leading Automotive development company. Successful candidates will be involved in hands-on FMEA, Validation and Diagnostics moving into Systems integration, Development and also managing 1st tier suppliers. Job Title: Senior / Principal Engineer - System Integration (SI) The Role: Creation of EMS functional Specifications / documents Management of tier 1 EMS suppliers Reporting and Validation of EMS functionality Creation / Support in developing Component FMECA's and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA). Report to Development team leader for: - EMS SI activity. - Electronic throttle control - FMEA's (PIN/CAN) - Component Integration Software fault diagnosis / report throughout S/W release phases. Vehicle build support and associated diagnosis. Support Calibration team in OBD and diagnostic activity. Assist in developing plans and ensuring that the SI activities are conducted to plan and that the product achieves the targets of the PDS. Prioritise workload to ensure the requirements of the NPI process are achieved for new product or modification introductions. Develop skills within the team through team working and use of personal development reviews to identify development needs and set challenging personal objectives. Work closely with Test Operations; ensure test plans are available so that the right facilities are made available at the appropriate time, whether in the UK or China. Provide the Development team leader with status reports and resource support within the budget constraints of their approved programmes. Support weekly team status and technical reviews. Ensure all data and reports are appropriately documented. Assist in developing EMS sign off criteria. Highlight any deviation from plan at the earliest opportunity and instigate recovery plans. Ensures that the appropriate test standards are applied and are reviewed / updated as technology progresses. Support the Performance and Calibration input to any RFQ / RFQ response as required. Influence the development programme through experimental techniques. Support development and use of new technologies within the department. The Person: Proven Automotive experience, EMS associated Gasoline or Diesel engines. Minimum HND in Electronic Engineering or similar. Good Working knowledge of torque structure based EMS. Working knowledge of MATLAB an advantage. Working knowledge of INCA or SAM2000 and other propriety tools Structured approach to problem solving. Ability to work without close supervision on a day to day basis. Interpret results and manipulate data using spreadsheets, databases. Technical Report writing skills. Prepared to challenge the 'status quo' through an inquisitive nature. Attention to detail and good communication skills. Ability to plan activities through continually changing priorities whilst recognising the wider business need. Enthusiastic, self motivated and determined to succeed. Full driving licence. Prepared to work overseas as the business needs require including hot and cold environmental test.
