| A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join one of the UK's leading Environmental Consultancy Companies as a Senior Planning Consultant. My client specialises in providing consulting solutions for a wide variety of 'green' areas. The principal function of the position is to assist in the delivery of the Government's planning and sustainable development agenda. You will manage and deliver complex major planning applications involving management of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and process of Sustainable Development type projects. Key responsibilities/skills: �Educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development). �It is preferable candidates are members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or working towards this qualification or equivalent (e.g. RICS). �tHave experience in dealing with complex major planning applications for a wide range of major developments (e.g. property, waste, renewables, industry). �Experience of the Town and Country Planning system in the UK and an understanding of the Planning Application process and preparation of Application Documents. �Understanding of Planning legislation and Planning policy (PPS'a and RSS's) and of Renewable Energy Policy, and Waste Management Policy / Legislation is preferred. �Solid project management and business development skills are expected.
