Job Description:
Our client a leading provider of enterprise class data storage subsystems and network technology.

This is a new requirement for a project manager with a strong engineering business process background. You will be joining an expanding company that is involved with the design, development and manufacture of sophisticated robotic automated test and manufacturing systems for the electronics industry.

The role requires an engineer with strong project management capability, excellent knowledge of business improvement and product lifecycle processes too. The company has expanded rapidly for a number of years and as a result needs to re-engineer their business systems. You will be required to analyse, understand, restructure, and implement changes to their systems and processes in order to achieve continuity across their global business units (USA, Europe, and S.E. Asia)

This position could suit an engineering manager, operations manager, director or business owner with a good understanding of how a capital equipment engineering company operates. You would need strong project management ability, a passion for change, strong interpersonal skills, and be able to travel in order to champion the project.

You will be required to develop collaborative and effective business relationships and professional rapport across all groups within the company including design and development, purchasing, operations, quality, and finance, as well as the supply chain and customers too.

Skill / Knowledge Required:
- Ideally a degree or equivalent in a technical / engineering discipline (mechanical, production, electronics, etc)
- Proven ability as a project manager
- Strong commercial knowledge
- Strong communication skills - confident, able to present at all levels, influential, strong decision making capability with a true sense of ownership for projects and their delivery
- Excellent knowledge of engineering business processes and associated information systems (e.g. Engineering Change Management, Document Management, Project Management tools and Methods, Product Data Management (PDM), Business Systems (ERP / SAP) and other statistical process controls)
- Knowledge of process re-engineering, business improvement and change management

Others: (beneficial)
- Formal project management training (e.g. Prince 2)
- Formal management or business qualifications would be ideal (e.g. MBA)
- A background in engineering (design / development etc) would be useful
- Used to working within a Matrix organisation
