| Contracts Manager - Civils/Rail - £45-55K + Package Our client a civil engineering main contractor turn over £250million a year and with operations spanning over 40 years they are well known within the industry for their expertise and knowledge. They have recently been awarded a framework contract with a blue chip client thus are seeking to employ a contracts manager. Contracts Manager As the contracts manager you will be working within the rail sector on a framework contract. Reporting to the operations director you will be responsible for tender handover, setting up new projects and management of site teams on projects to ensure work is completed. As the contracts manager your main duties will be but not limited to: * Support and manage project managers, site managers and their teams * Ensure the contract is staffed appropriately and that adequate labour resources are made available * Report to the principal director on the operational and financial performance of allocated projects * Form good professional relationships with subcontractors * Supervise and develop subordinates * Liaise and co-operate effectively with all departments of the company * Maintain a continuous interest and study of new techniques and developments construction *Attend client meetings and advise on progress, commercial and safety issues * Provide advice to the bidding team at tender stage, including advice on suitable subcontractors and methods of working * Ensure feedback on outputs and subcontractor performance * Ensure works are carried out with full consideration of safety Contracts Manager You will have: * Worked on civils projects within a rail environment * HND, HNC or Degree in civil engineering * Experience working in a main contracting environment * Experience working on projects valued from £100K to £10million Along with this you will be an excellent communicator, have a good understanding of civils projects within a rail environment and commercially aware. You will be given full support of the operations director to ensure that you are able to manage delivery teams and given a stable and ongoing work load.
