| Principle Playground Scheme Estimator Responsible to: Drawing Office Manager Responsible for: The efficient and effective organisation and completion of sales estimates for quotation and the maintenance of up to date pricing information on bought in products and services. Specific Duties: -Working as part of a team and in unison with CAD/3D presentation design staff to ensure a complete package of consistent and accurate information, including costing, is presented to SMP customers. -Being a champion of the estimating function and providing guidance to other members of the scheme design team on cost related issues. -Champion the vetting Q.R.F.�s received for omissions or errors and ensure that discrepancies are corrected after liaison with the relevant Area Manager and any other appropriate members of SMP Staff. -Champion the full costing of Q.R.F.�s including the following categories: - a) Supply and install playground equipment b) Supply and install of different types of impact absorbing surfacing and tarmac. c) Supply and install of ancillary items from various 3rd party suppliers. d) Costing of a variety of Landscaping features. e) Remedial works. -Ensure close liaison with the Contracts department to price any special site works, landscaping design features, before the estimate is passed to the Sales Office for preparation. -Maintain up to date records and prices on all bought in products and services and make this available to sales staff for there easy reference. -Ensure any discounts or �Special� pricing is confirmed with the European Sales and Marketing Manager, before the estimate is passed to the Sales Office for preparation. -Completion of Bills of Quantites as may be required by the customer for the completion of their tender documentation. -Completion of tender documents, including any required assurances that may be required. Any out of the ordinary contract clauses to be confirmed with the Operations Director. -Provide CAD drawing support as and when work loads dictate. KEY COMPETENCIES -Good communication skills (both internal & external). -Background in the estimating/QS world/Landscape contracting sector. -Good working knowledge of Landscaping techniques and theory would be a particular advantage. -Ability to work on AutoCAD and knowledge of representing Landscaping features in that medium would be an advantage. -The capability to collaborate with internal departments in working practices. -Good customer and commercial focus are required to ensure that the requirements of customers and SMP are met. -Ability to work to set deadlines. -Ability to demonstrate and work on own initiative. -A team player with a helpful "can do" attitude to your work -Good Microsoft Office package skills (specifically Word, Outlook, Excel) and preferably Microsoft Project. | ||
