| A marine Superintendent is required. Be be based in Glasgow, however is required to travel to vessels on a regular basis. A Group Marine Superintendent is required, to be based in Glasgow. Salary from 45,000. To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK Purpose of the Position: A Marine Superintendent is required to travel to vessels for ISM implementation, port captaincy, vetting inspections, accident investigations and supervision of cargo operations. The successful candidate will be requested to work in all ship management division offices as requested with a preferred location of Glasgow as a base. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: a)Attend fleet vessels as directed by the DRSQM b)Assist in the takeover of new vessels and assist establishing and training the crew in the V.Ships ISM system (VMS) c)Overview of the cargo operations which is to include meeting with the agents, terminal, receivers, shippers and local/national authorities as required and when the opportunity arises. d)Assist the Master in expediting the cargo operation within the safe parameters of the vessel. e)Check the cargo plan against the voyage orders and ensure that the vessels will be loaded / discharged within the acceptable stress and stability criteria for the vessel. f)Assist in training the crew as per the Company Training Plan. g)Check the status of all reported deficiencies and to give the Master the necessary assistance/guidance to rectify these. h)Assess the vessels' onboard management and ensuring that the shipboard VMS is adhered to instructing the Master accordingly. i)Conduct a full inspection of the vessel as per instructions. j)Complete the appropriate reporting. k)Assist in any SMD office as directed when required. l)Work from home when not required in office (If not based Glasgow) m)Any other duties as required by the Risk, Safety & Quality Manager. REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications and experience) Master Mariner required with experience at senior level (Tanker vessels a minimum). Extensive knowledge of various ship types.
