| Key Duties: Leadership of engineering team incorporating both electrical technician and mechanical draughtsman including, allocation of work, technical direction, maintenance of engineering data and systems enabling the timely production of CAD drawings in support of manufacturing, sales and product development functions. Design and development of electrical equipments and systems as required by the sales order input taking into account customer system requirements, specifications and appropriate engineering standards. To take ownership of designated projects and provide overall project management from contract placement to completion; acting as focal point for customer liaison on technical issues from project initiation.. Maintenance of design control activities within the company quality management System including change requests, development of design solutions and implementation through to the production of manufacturing drawings (mechanical and electrical) and Manufacturing Data Packs. Developing Integrated Logistic Support solutions, where required by contracts, to include the provision of technical handbooks, ARM data, maintenance schedules and spares provisioning. Provision of technical information in support of codification of spares and components. Support of product development activities including the design, costing and development of new equipments or system as required by business plan objectives. Reporting of engineering department activity, progress and issues through monthly management reports and meetings. Key Skills and Experience: Broadly experience electrical engineer with recent experience in LV switchgear and motor control systems. Ability to produce detailed design from a customer specification applying appropriate standards and regulations, selection of components through to specification of test schedules. Competent in the use of AutoCAD in producing schematic and single line diagrams for electrical systems. Knowledge of system automation processes including PLC systems, SCADA and networked systems would be an advantage. Experience in a supervisory position within an engineering environment or, with the right level of experience, able to demonstrate readiness to move up to a supervisory position. Experience in a project management function and in the use of MS Project. Qualified to degree level or, having served a recognised apprenticeship, to HNC/D or equivalent. Effective written and verbal communicator; able to produce high quality technical documents and reports. UK MoD security cleared or able to achieve.
