| Fleet Manager Required to be employed on a permanent basis and based in Hamburg. Salary 100,000 euros. To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in Hamburg OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Fleet Manager will lead the Ship Management Team responsible for a number of vessels assigned to them and to ensure that the ships are operated to the highest standard in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and in accordance with the companies' standards and policies, ensuring total Client satisfaction at all times. The Fleet Manager will be the focal point for the Owner into the Management team and will be responsible for day-to-day communications. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Effectively managing the Ship Management Team to ensure its efficiency in the provision of the Management Services required under the Ship Management Agreement. 2.Keeping the Clients advised of problems which arise on their ships and to develop relationships with the Clients and through regular contact ensure customer satisfaction is being achieved. 3.Prepare and submit to the Fleet Director a weekly report detailing the operational status of each assigned vessel. The report should detail any current issues relating to Speed & Consumption, Operational Performance, Technical Matters, Class & Flag State Surveys. 4.Monitoring the vessel performance, shipboard maintenance and repair programmes, drydockings, deficiencies, class and flag surveys and to ensure that these are completed within the required time. 5.Ensuring that the ships entrusted to the Ship Management Team are operated to the highest standard with absolute regard to the safety of life at sea and protection of the environment and in conjunction with the Crewing Department ensure that the crews are of the highest standard achievable. To make recommendations for improvement. 6.Coordinating the preparation, and participating in the review and approval with the Fleet Director of the annual Vessel Operating Budgets prior to sending to the Client. Monitor the development of the Running Costs throughout the year and, in conjunction with the Fleet Manager and Fleet Accountant, ensure that all costs are vigorously controlled. 7.Coordinating the preparation, and participating in the review and approval of the Drydocking specifications and any other major repair works prior to tendering. 8.Identifying training requirements for the Ship Management Team. 9.Ensuring the timely preparation of Insurance Claims by the Superintendent. 10.Setting up and ensuring continued operation of team briefings, meetings and reporting directed towards achieving team awareness, commitment and objectives. 11.Ensuring that Client reports are completed within the specified time scales. 12.Reporting to Senior Management on all matters which are of a concern. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (cont'd): 13.Formulating and co-ordinating a visitation plan to ensure that the ships are visited by the Fleet Superintendent at regular intervals. 14.Approving orders, invoices and payments up to limit of authorisation. 15.Assisting in any emergency response as required. LIMITS OF AUTHORITY: Authority within the approved technical budget for the vessels under his control. REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB (Essential skills, qualifications and experience) The position requires a person who is self motivated with strong leadership and communication skills.
