| Engineers (Mechanical or Electrical) - Derby 12 - 36 Months £30-£40 per hour Are you an engineer looking for a long term contract within the submarine sector? Our client is currently seeking a number mechanical and electrical engineers. You will be working in the following areas; propulsors, steam turbo-generators, flexible couplings and noise attenuators, and overall propulsion plant architecture. You will be based at the client's Derby office and is expected to last between 1 and 3 years. Recognising the restricted nature of this work, candidates must have SC clearance. A background and knowledge of submarine systems is advantageous but not essential. Successful candidates will need to have experience in one or more of the following areas: - Marine propulsion and related equipment (including condensers, steam turbines, generators, propulsors/propellers, noise attenuating devices) -Fibre composites or similar materials; -Writing Product Definitions; -Finite Element Analysis; -Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes eg BS5500, ASME IX -Noise and vibration for rotating machinery and its attenuation; -Rotating plant; -Fluid systems design; -Submarine systems; -Nuclear engineering; -Power electrics; -Energy storage equipment and systems; -Plant system design and integration; -Procurement management -Configuration Management | ||
