JOB PURPOSE:

Provide specialist building services input to all pharmaceutical, food, and fine chemical projects.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Discipline resourcing to meet project needs. Responsible for building services proposals, studies, conceptual design and detail design on all projects. Ensure technical excellence in area of specialist responsibilities. Ensure building services knowledge database is kept up to date. Identify and implement new technology.

MAIN DUTIES WITHIN KEY AREAS:

Act as Lead Building Services Engineer on projects and supervise and control the work of engineers and draughtsmen.
Estimating, programming and budget control of projects.
Liaise with other disciplines, clients and suppliers.
Detail building services design and/or approval including calculation, plant and equipment selection.
Provide site support during survey, installation and commissioning stages.
Sales and building services marketing support including presentations

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential: HNC Environmental/Building Services Engineering, C.Eng. ACIBSE (or equivalent)

Desirable: BSc Building Services Engineering, C.Eng.; MCIBSE (or equivalent)

EXPERIENCE:

Essential: 5-10 years minimum experience of HVAC Engineering. Project experience, cost
control, client liaison, site liaison/surveys. Supervision of engineers/draughtsman.
Specific expertise in the design of plant in either primary pharmaceutical or
secondary pharmaceutical. PC literate including Word, Excel,
CYMAP or Hevacomp

Desirable: Experience in the fine chemicals, pharmaceutical and food industries from a contractor or end user aspect - preferably both. Use of CAD.
