| A fantastic opportunity exists for a Systems Engineer to work with an international aerospace manufacturer. You will ideally have a knowledge of DOORS as well as a strong knowledge of aircraft fuel systems and components. You will be responsible for requirements capture in relation to the development and subsequent manufacture of fuel systems for new and existing commercial aircraft. This is a great opportunity with a dynamic and expanding aerospace company. Ideally you will have a knowledge of Aircraft fuel systems from an OEM and will be looking for a new opportunity within the discipline. You should be able to design and analyse systems for: fuel feed, fuel transfer and trim, fuel jettison, refuel/defuel with overpressure protection, fuel vent systems to maintain tank pressures within structural limits during climb and descent and fuel tank inert gas systems for maintaining the tanks inert on ground and in the air. We are looking for a candidate with a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering or systems engineering or a combination of these. The candidate should ideally have a basic knowledge of the operational and performance characteristics of aircraft fuel pumps, jet pumps, electrically operated ball-valves, check valves, pressure regulating valves, fluid conveyance systems, flame arresters, NACA* intakes for vent systems and be able to specify these components to meet the system functional requirements. For system analysis purposes the candidate should be familiar with some of the following software packages: Flowmaster, Matlab-Simulink, Fluent CFD and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Powerpoint. In addition a working knowledge of DOORS software is required for system requirements capture and flowdown to component functional specifications. The job will involve specification of system requirements, development of system architecture, selection and functional specification of system components, e.g. pumps, valves, pipework, etc., validation of system performance, flight test support including specification of flight test instrumentation to validate system performance, test results analysis and system performance reporting.
