| My client is the market leader in provision of vehicle mounted lifting equipment. Their solutions have a wide range of applications for industrial, passenger trains and buses, commercial vehicles and healthcare sectors. For example tailgate lifts, wheelchair lifts, gas bottle lifts You will be responsible for: - developing design solutions on client application projects - seeing all aspects of project delivery detail to implementation - working across the cross-functional teams - implement changes within quality requirements and progress Engineering Change Notes We are looking for: An experienced and practical Mechanical Design Engineer with a track record of product development, design from concept to manufacture and cost-down engineering. A great communicator ability to work across all departments. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES + Experienced in the use of CAD, solid modelling, PDM and FEA systems (Solidworks, Smarteam & Cosmos are the current packages used). + A good understanding of stress analysis, materials, hydraulics and electrical/electronic design. + A good understanding of steel fabrication, aluminium extrusion and other manufacturing processes. + Good influencing skills + Experience of using project management software - MS Project (desireable) + A good understanding of Bills of Materials and product costing would be a benefit + Experience of Engineering Change Notes QUALIFICATIONS + Hold an NQF Level 6 qualification (BSc Degree or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering. EXPERIENCE + Design and Project engineering within a fast moving development/commercial environment. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES + Detail focussed and committed to excellence in design. | ||
