| Job Purpose Responsible for investigating and sentencing defect's on board the T45 destroyers - determining the root cause of any problem and deciding whether to treat as a warranty issue or a customer liability. Thereafter, responsible for managing the defect clearance activities on board - balancing the customer's requirements for availability of the vessel against the company's need for a cost effective completion of its Warranty obligations. Key Responsibility Areas Responsible for the investigation and sentencing of all defects identified by the customer. Responsible for the conduct of warranty work - controlling costs and the activities of company staff/sub-contractors in order to discharge the Company's Warranty obligations within the allocated budget and any established risk. Responsible for the conduct of customer liability work - controlling costs and the activities of company staff/sub-contractors in order to discharge the Company s tasked obligations within the allocated budget and any established risk. Interfacing with Customer representatives, e.g. Project Team Management and Ship's staff (up to and including Commanding Officer) - determine customer requirements and report progress in the execution of contractual obligations (warranty or otherwise). Responsible to the Project Director and Head of Warranty for identifying any Warranty issues or performance requirements which cannot be met through the reasonable efforts of the agreed Warranty team. Responsible to the Head of Warranty for the implementation of Warranty tools, policies & procedures within the Project Additional Information Platform and Combat systems specialists required (one of each) - to act as the interface between Ship's staff and the company for the investigation, sentencing and resolution of all defects post AoC. These are high visibility roles requiring self starting, customer friendly and confident engineers who can communicate well at all levels. Good influencing skills and credibility with the customer are a must. Line Management will be shared between the T45 Interim Support Availability Manager in Portsmouth and the T45 Warranty manager who is likely to be Clyde based. It is intended that there will be a level of interchange with other staff forming a combined T45 Maintenance/Warranty organisation - and so periods of working in Glasgow are to be expected.
