| Job Purpose To supervise and carry out when necessary aircraft and component maintenance, repair and overhaul tasks, involving assembly work, mods conversion and component repairs. Responsible for certification of aircraft systems operational and function checks and aircraft inspections as applicable to his/her CAA license and company approvals. Working to completion deadlines, ensuring workshops resources are best utilised to support EASA Part 145 activities and targets, whilst maintaining quality and airworthiness requirements. Liaising with internal and external customers to produce work on time and to the required standard. Main responsibilities include: 1. Ensuring CAA and MOD requirements are adhered to in the EASE Part145 areas. 2. Supervise and carry out when necessary installation/removal of sheet-metal and mechanical components, major assemblies, airframe structures and complete aircraft systems in accordance with drawings , mod instructions, maintenance manual or other approved engineering documentation. 3. Carry out operational and function checks on MRO aircraft, trouble shooting and fault rectification. 4. Carry out aircraft inspection surveys, produce manufacturing and maintenance job estimate times. 5. Identify job material requirements necessary to complete the aircraft in line with the production programme and order as appropriate. 6. Liaise with base maintenance manager, design and QA departments on production documentation queries and advise where improvements are necessary. 7. Assist HR and QA departments with training of fitters and technicians as necessary and provide practical support and on the job training for apprentices and trainees. 8. Ensure relevant shop floor and quality assurance procedures are used and applied correctly. 9. Implement and promote healthy and safe working practices in accordance with company policy. Take all reasonable steps to ensure these practices are brought to the attention of and are implemented by company employees. 10. Maintain cleanliness in the work area and take necessary action to ensure tools and equipment in his/her area are in good working order. 11. Undertake training as appropriate in order to fulfil the requirements of the role.
