| The role is essentially that of On site Ambassador in that all aspects of Engineering, Project Management, Account Management, Change Control and Troubleshooting will flow through you based from the Client's site (anticipated 60% time in Ford Dunton). You will provide an excellent and professional Service to your client and will establish close relationships with your key contacts the Component Engineers, Engineering Supervisors and Engineering Managers on your Projects. The other crucial element of your role will be communicating with the "Mothership"; promoting your program activities, supporting the core Engineering team which is based in Germany and Manufacturing which is in Scotland. Also other PT personnel in Asia and America. Some of this can be conducted remotely from home, but may also require travel for face-to-face meetings. Desirable skills: Technical knowledge of Diesel and Gasoline engines, ideally related to FEAD. Understanding of key issues, inter-dependency with other engine systems, manufacturing, quality and Aftermarket issues Previous experience of planning, leading & implementing projects Strong Commercial acumen and awareness of the cost drivers affecting piece cost, tooling and capital investment Builds networks and communicates easily with people at all levels of Internal and External organisation Excellent presentation skills in MS Office and MS Project Methodical and organised as an individual. Ability to quickly assimilate information Degree educated in Mechanical Engineering biased subject Ability to Travel, sometimes at short notice, principally to the Midlands, Scotland & Germany and to suppliers etc and international to America and Asia. ADVANTAGE : Knowledge of Ford (&JLR) Global Powertrain Development processes and tools (WERS, AIMS, IDEAS, FMEA, 8D, Robustness, APQP, PPAP etc.) | ||
