| For assigned equipments ensure Peer Reviews and Manufacturing Reviews are conducted and actioned in line with agreed schedule with design engineers and quality assurance. This also includes writing of work instructions and ensuring that Bill of Materials and drawings are correct prior to being issued. Although the lead ME can not necessarily stop performance issues leading to a design change the lead ME is responsible for ensure that the job is designed around available processes in the cleanroom and all parts are available and compatible with processes and tooling available. Generate all tooling requirements and get these added to the Bill of Materials and built. All tooling should be added to the BOM and released prior to the BOM being issued. It is the lead ME's responsibility to ensure that the tooling is drawn and issued. The lead should have competence in drawing the tooling themselves however if they do not have the competence then they need to ensure that they employee somebody else to undertake this task. If budget is not available to undertaken the task them this needs to be highlighted and alternative sources found. Assist in development of Production Risk Plan. This activity primarily involves working with the relevant program manager and ensure that all risks that are highlighted are added to the risk register. The lead should also keep a log of these risks prior to handing over to the program manager to keep a track of the issues important to their aspect of the program. Clear risk mitigation actions need to be in place to ensure that if problems occur an alternative way forward is in place. Undertake monthly cost updates. Escalate major cost deltas. This part of the job is critical in regards to getting forward load correct and runs hand in hand with the production plan to ensure correct levels of work enter the factory. Any overspends or under spends need to be justified. It is the leads responsibility to ensure that budget is well understood and closure of work packages should coincide with completion of work. Sanitise production plan to ensure accurate reflection of routing lead times in schedules. Demonstrate evolution of schedule lead times i.a.w. routing evolution. This sanitation should be undertaken on a weekly basis. For work which is production ensure that any stoppages are sorted out as soon as they become a problem. Drive any issue through as quickly as possible exhausting all possible avenues for a viable solution. The role assumes responsibility for sorting the problem not sweeping it under the carpet.
