| A vacancy for a Support Engineer has arisen within the Saudi Support Project located within our shipbuilding facility in Portsmouth. Reporting to the Operations Manager the successful applicant will be required to assist in all areas of the PDS contract, which provides technical and some logistical support to the Royal Saudi Naval Forces AL JAWF Class vessels and associated platform equipments. Responsibilities will include: - The production of technical instructions and responding to technical queries, raised by the Royal Saudi Naval Force, - Assisting in the investigation and technical vetting of alternative equipments due to obsolescence, - Maintaining records of investigations carried out, - Raising appropriate project forms in accordance with contract requirements. The above will include liaison with original equipment manufacturers, Shipbuilding, the Prime Contractor BAE systems and MOD UK. Some travel within the UK and to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be necessary from time to time. Accurate, self motivated with an attention to detail, applicants should ideally be educated to HNC / HND level in an engineering discipline with marine engineering experience in either a mechanical. electrical or electronics / weapons discipline. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office products is essential.
