| Product Manager- Hull Integrity required for a major Classification society. This role offers a wide range of technical and commercial challenges in a global, multi-disciplinary development and delivery team. The successful candidate will be provided with formal training to develop the strategic awareness and tactical skills required of a successful product manager, in order to add value to Hull Integrity. Hull Integrity is a new software-based consultancy service that provides ship operators with the guidance and tools to manage the integrity of the vessels in their fleet. Hull Integrity was launched two years ago and it currently contributes £1million per year to Marine's consultancy business. With ambitions to double Hull Integrity's orders by 2012, we are now seeking to appoint a full-time product manager. Our clients global Marine Consultancy Services (MCS) has ambitions to double in size by 2012. The vision is to increase their share of the global classification market, both new-build and in-service, by providing non-Class services and solutions to deepen relationships with existing Class customers, broaden relationships with non-Class customers, and establish a sustainable global business. Job Responsibilities - Support SIA Centres in defining, estimating, proposing and managing Hull Integrity projects, typically in excess of £1million per annum. - Manage the global Hull Integrity team in London and support the SIA Centres with the aim of improving the efficiency and quality of work. - Provide specialist solutions and ad hoc support to Hull Integrity customers and SIA Centres with regard to structural problems, eg. fatigue life, critical inspection points, and the implementation of Hull Integrity. - Co-ordinate Hull Integrity service delivery including the management of the mission-critical sub-contractors in India. - Maintain internal operating procedures and process maps, as well as external documentation (rules, guidelines, etc) for customers. - Consolidate global Hull Integrity sales and marketing plans, and agree targets with the SIA Centre Managers and the SIA Global Manager. - Develop a key client base for Hull Integrity, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. - Identify and exploit new profitable opportunities for Hull Integrity software and service development in collaboration with Group IT. Job Requirements - Degree qualified (or equivalent) with, or working towards, Chartered status; - Willingness and ability to travel globally for up to 25% of the time; - A first-rate communicator with the ability to build relationships with external clients and internal multi-disciplinary functions (including IT) at all levels; - Strong problem-solving skills and outstanding report writing abilities; - Excellent presentation skills for seminars, client visits and project meetings; - A strong desire to contribute to the growth of our marine consultancy business.
