Job Description:

Development Engineer

 

Our client is seeking a dynamic and flexible Development Engineer to carry out testing and analysis work on engine and vehicle projects.

 

The Role:

 

To organise and facilitate development testing

 

To analyse development test results

 

To construct &/or supervise the specification, installation and subsequent analysis of job-specific instrumentation requirements

 

To prepare technical reports

 

To design parts for development testing

 

To liaise with programme suppliers

 

To liaise with internal and external customers

 

Responsible for the quality of the test data, results analysis and report

 

Responsible for adhering to or seeking deviation for the development procedures

 

Responsible for the clear instruction of company staff using the appropriate procedures and forms

 

Responsible for feeding back test results to the internal and external customer in a timely manner

 

Requirements:

 

A Degree (minimum 2.1 classification or above) or a HND in a relevant discipline, together with a approximately two years experience of engine or engine related development experience, or alternatively, five years suitable experience of working on

engine development projects

 

Knowledge of engine processes and a demonstration of practical experience of engines, engine testing and vehicles

 

Ability to define, prepare, process and analyse development testing and, preferably, the ability to define test plans without assistance

 

Ability to work as part of a team

 

Ability to define, specify, install and provide subsequent analyses of engine instrumentation techniques

 

Ability to work on own and as part of a team

 

Confidence to communicate effectively at all levels

 

Must be self motivated and the possess the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner and with appropriate attention to detail

 

Ability to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints

 

Flexibility and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations (including secondments)
